How much does it cost?

PGDip in Worship and Liturgical Studies (120 credits) – £7,000 full time (one year, full time) or £3,500 per annum part time (over two years) plus £2,609.60 full board accommodation for one mandatory term in residence at St Stephen’s House Oxford.

MA in Worship and Liturgical Studies (180 credits) – £7,000 per annum full time (two years, full time) or £3,500 per annum part time over 4 years, plus £2,609.60 full board accommodation for one mandatory term in residence at St Stephen’s House Oxford. The MA can also be taken in three years, one year full time, one year part time.

Funding

Prospective students may apply for a G. H. Palmer Scholarship, administered by St Stephen’s House, of up to £2,000 per academic year. Prospective students are encouraged first to approach church and ministerial communties local to them who may wish to support their studies.

Who is it for?

Given its professional development orientation, students are likely to be preparing for a vocation in music ministry – or other church ministry – or will already be actively engaged in such a profession.

The normal entrance requirement for postgraduate study via the Institute of Sacred Music is an upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to the course of study. Such qualifications should normally include substantial theological content. Other qualifications or significant relevant experience can sometimes form the basis for exceptional admissions. Students for whom English is their second language should have achieved a score of 7.0 with no component under 6.5 in an IELTS examination, or equivalent.
