Given its professional development orientation, students are likely to be preparing for a vocation in music ministry - or other church ministry -  or will already be actively engaged in such a profession.

The normal entrance requirement for postgraduate study via the Institute of Sacred Music is an upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to the course of study. Such qualifications should normally include substantial theological content. Other qualifications or significant relevant experience can sometimes form the basis for exceptional admissions. Students for whom English is their second language should have achieved a score of 7.0 with no component under 6.5 in an IELTS examination, or equivalent.
